The VIG series was Glaesel's step-up line from the brand's Cleveland era, and this one carries a detail most of its siblings lack: gold-accented fittings, freshly polished by our shop as part of a complete 2026 refurbishment with new Dominant strings and a new Aubert 5 bridge. Decades of naturally matured tonewood give it the warm, opened-up voice that separates a real intermediate instrument from a student one. It arrives fully set up and ready to play, and it looks as good as it sounds.

The Glaesel story starts in our backyard: German luthier Kurt Glaesel founded Glaesel String Instrument Service in Cleveland in 1973, and for decades every Glaesel was shop-adjusted right here in Northeast Ohio. Our vintage collection comes from that era, and each instrument has spent those years in our care.
