A Jazz Age saxophone from Elkhart, Indiana: nearly one hundred years old and playing again.
This Martin alto left the Elkhart factory around 1928, back when the Martin family still ran the shop and every bell carried hand engraving. It is stamped Low Pitch, so unlike many horns of its era, it plays in tune with modern instruments. All pads and corks have been replaced (none are original), and our technician has just adjusted and play-tested it: it plays as-is, top to bottom. The warm, broad Martin tone that players still chase is all here, wrapped in a horn with a century of story.
